your ratio sucks ass, do something you are a disgrace to oink
I knoes, I'm trying.
What do I need to do? I won't download anything else, just upload, but what to upload? What if people don't want what I upload, how does that help my ratio?
Alright, I've filled one request and got a couple more.
it's just that he had 4.40gig down and 9megs up but not seeding anything. way to get the boot quickly
I just want him to enjoy oink for a long time
My CD collection actually has some of the requests, so I'm hookin' people up. My cable modem upload sucks though, but I'll leave it going for a while.
yup that's what you have to do. leave your torrents seeding for as long as you can. months if possible
IB I get blasted too
I try, I try, srsly, I'm not gonna download shit until I've seeded enough to gain a respectable ratio
Thanks for the invite though. I've been trying forever to get one. Now I just need to learn how to upload my own torrents
does bittorrent work with oink?
you're not bad at all, keep on seeding
oink = way easier than its made out to be.
yup, most people seem to be in awe or something when they get an account and download like maniacs for some odd reason and then they get the boot...
I was using Bits On Wheels before, but it's not compatible. I'm now using Azureus on my MBP, and uTorrent on my desktop PC. Aside from Transmission, those are the only bittorrent clients that I've used.
Edit: It should be noted, I'm an extreme torrent noob I don't even know how to upload my own torrents yet. I'm just learning as I go
here is their list of allowed clients
To a certain degree I find. There's an inital rush on a torrent, and you can get upload there. But once the torrent has gone out of some sort of popularity, your uploads are scarce if you just download the "not-so-popular" stuff.
At least that's how I'm seeing it.
I'm fixing my ratio now, from yesterday to today it's gone from 0.003 to 0.267.
yeah you are doing great now
I'm not sure if anyone's noticed, but this OiNK FAQ was just posted in the OT forum. Very informative for a noob like myself. Hopefully this brings positive results to my ratio
