I have to admit, with all the stories about how Ft. Jackson has converted into an "easy" basic training base, when he told me he was a DS at FT. Jackson I did a mental ":hsugh:".

How long has it been since he was here? I've been on the trail for 7 months so I might not know him....name?

It all depends on the individual DS. Most of them I have to admit are "candy drills" but me and my fellow 11 series try to keep it "traditional" as much as possible.....within our limitations. Our hands are tied so much by the system....TRADOC wants to get them in the army in one piece and ready to go, not broke off....it sucks but its all about numbers; especially with everything going on downrange.
