I went to the gym for the first time in a few years on Monday night..

I did some cardio then upper body. I didn't go overboard (I thought at the time :o )

Did some shoulder presses, preacher curls, sitting down row thing (where you pull it towards your body), and some incline benching. The next day, i was pretty sore. Then on Wednesday, I couldn't straighten out my damn arms! I felt like a fucking gimp. I was slowly stretching them last night, and it's better today, but I'm still in a lot of pain.

Was it from lack of stretching? Am I broken now?

    Wtf, help me out F&N.

maybe your muscle fibres/tendons arent used to weights yet and this is some kind of reaction

    they definitely havent atrophied

It's because you havn't worked out in a long time. Right now your body doesn't know what the fuck.

might have wanted to go into it a little easier, but yeah soreness is inevitable your first time lifting in a while. I remember in high school in the first week of weight training I ended up doing legs and midsection for the last 4 days of the week because my biceps hurt so bad from lifting really hard the first day of the week :mamoru: I couldn't straighten out my arms either i felt retarded.

It happens, every time I take more then a week off the first day of squatting makes walking fun for 3-4 days.

ive had the same thing happen from bicep curls. if you dont do them in awhile then all of a sudden hit ur biceps hard you may strain them and not be able to extend for a few days

happened to me when I got back into lifting a few years back. Had an intense biceps/triceps workout. It literally took me like 5 minutes to put my tshirt and jacket on :hs:

That happened to me whenever I took a long break from weightlifting. It was either the tendon behind the elbow or the one just below the bicep that would get strained. It would take me anywhere from 3-7 days to recover from it and it hurt like a bitch.

I love that feeling though of pushing through the pain to stretch them out straight. Feels soooo good.
