Just finished a round of BF2...and did over-clock the card some. GPU - 560 Mhz and the Memory at 530Mhz...the temp when finished was a balmy 77c (170 F). I'm sure it was slightly higher during game play.

This seems a bit on the warm side...does it to anyone else??

Oh...after a few mins of idle, back down to 65c (149 F) which is about normal for the card.

if it idles at 150, and goes to 170 during "max effort". that's not bad. esp if oc'd

Waste of money. Should have waited. The r520 core has too many problems right now.

That is far from hot for a stock cooler.

weird. I was using the sapphire driver disc that came with the card, I deleted those after a while and installed the cat 5.11 from ati's site. my idle temp is now down to 50-55 celsius

    Disagree

I've used ATI for years and am very pleased with the performance I've received from it. The prior card was a nVidia 6800.
