So i am supposed to be getting an 8525 from someone who upgraded...he says he never did anything to it as far as modding or loading updates, etc.

What should i do to it when i get it? Is there a certain ROM i should be running, or any software i must have?

i've used the 8525 before I switched to a blackberry. I'm not to familiar with updating it but I was told to update it to the current version of windows mobile.

    Good phone though.

I updated using the official WM6 update. I'm not man enough to try one of the cooked roms...don't want to brick it.

I installed some of the SPB software and so far so good.

seriously if you like customization check out the cooked roms, just make sure you read EVERYTHING before doing so.
