A year later, I think it's one of the best movies I've seen. Everything was right about this movie - the acting, the cinematography, the music. Usually, when I watch movies about heroes or legends, the story tries to humanize the person. But this movie went the opposite way - in trying to humanize Jesse James, they kept adding to the myth. The movie allowed everything to breathe. Absolutely beautiful. Thoughts?

WOW :eek3: I just watched this again on Tuesday, and it's still one of my favorites . I could watch this and There Will Be Blood over and over again.

Added the blu ray to the top of the queue. We'll see how this turns out.

I thought that this was a movie in desperate need of a good editor.

One of my favorite movies, ever. Probably my favorite score ever. It's a shame some people just don't have the attention span to watch the whole thing or appreciate it.

I love the Jesse James legend but I never cared to see this movie. When will it be on cable?

It's playing on HBO now. What really irritates me about this movie is the "by the Coward Robert Ford" in the title. It makes it really long and just retarded

It was good, but I think there are other ways to set up tension than simply blank staring and silence for long periods at a time. The acting was pretty good, especially from Pitt, but it didn't stop the film from being boring.

I thought it could have moved along faster. But other than that, it was not bad.

The original edit was over 4 hours long, according to IMDB. I would love to be able to find that somewhere, as this is one of my favorite movies ever as well. I seem to be on a late 1800's kick as of late; I keep watching TAOJJBTCRF, 3:10 to Yuma, and There Will Be Blood over and over again.

the title length is fitting of the time period in which the movie is set.
