    Whats up all.

I am currently in the process of converting a website from static pages to be driven by a sql backend powered by ASP. The problem i am having is that I want the menu system to be dynamic, and right now it is created with some javascript. What i need to know is.

Can I use ASP to pull data from a databse, and insert it into the javascript. I've looked at some examples but I can't find exactly what I need.

So bascially, can you create or add to a javascript if your using ASP to pull data from a databse.

Do i need to use AJAX or something to make this work?

Any help would be great. Thank you.

    Classic ASP?

Upgrade to ASP.NET with either C# or VB.NET. There are dynamic menu controls that can pull from a database. No javascript writing required.

Since you're starting from scratch, I agree, don't bother with Classic ASP...go straight to .NET.

However, if you decide not to...then yes you can embed ASP code into your javascript.
