    Goals: Big wheels, tree trunk legs, etc.

    As of 07/27/09:
    Squat - 170x6
    Bench - 205x8
    Deads - 175x6

    Background: Legs are weak since I rarely trained them, but I just started to get serious with squats and I’ve been putting on weight for the past few weeks so hopefully we’ll see this one continue to go up. I have varicose veins on my left leg (yeah wtf I’m 21) and had my great saphenous vein lasered off last May, but the veins still bulge and I have to wear a compression stocking. Anyway, I’ve been mindlessly lifting for quite a while and I’m ready to make some real gains, so I decided to start a log. I’ll try out the 5x5 routine since it seemed to work for others on here. Diet: Looking to clean up. Will be posted as the days pass by.

    Supplements: 2 scoops No-Xplode pre workout, ON Whey, Fish Oil.

    My weight shot up when I first started doing legs as well.

    for reference, i'm 5'7, 154 lbs, squatting and dead lifts at 225 x 8. Been actively working out legs for probably 3 months now. Been actively lifting for 5 years or so

    I would try to work in the 8-12 rep ranges for now except deads which I use 5-10 rep ranges for those.

    Will try, I usually do 8x3 for each exercise. It's the first day for this 5x5 set and I'm not really feeling it too much, but it IS the first day. :hs:

    Leg day next.

    Any idea on what I should stock up on when I go grocery shopping? I usually get turkey meat, whole wheat bread, eggs, chicken breast, carrots, cucumbers, bananas, peaches, apples, grapes, and almonds.

    Grocery list looks fine. Things you can stock up are meats, especially if you can store them in the freezer.

    5x5 is an awesome strength/size protocol imo. Slightly more strength than pure size, but I've never had a problem with small legs and 5x5 :mamoru:
