I was thinking about putting that too, but wasn't sure if it's as popular as the "artsy" movies already listed by him.

Hero was kinda trippy at times.

The only other "artsy" kinda movie I can think of is What Dreams may come? I don't know if that would be considered artsy or not.

anything form the french new wave era.

blow-up, breathless(actually from the 50's), jim & jules, belle de jour, and 400 blows( i don't like this one that much) are some good artsy films

    1. eight and a half women (really weird, but great - this movie tends to be hard-to-find. I don't expect any of you to see this.)

    2. Irreversible (memento on drugs with a vengeance)

    3. Dancer in the Dark (needs no further introduction)

    4. The city of lost children (french movie. Supposedly for kids, but has a great and amazing world - watch this - NOT the dubbed version.)

    5. Being John Malkovich and Adaptation (these should be seperate, but they are sort of a linked story. Both are extremely good movies. If you haven't seen these, you should)

    6. Eternal sunshine in a spotless mind (this was mentioned earlier, but it's a pretty good movie, so I thought I'd throw it in here just for fun)

    7. Vidoqc (This is pretty hard to classify. The visual expression is very special, and the story is unlike any of the others. It reminds me of The City of Lost Children. Watch this to get some variation.)

    8. Solaris (people haven't watched this. It's nice)

I love looking at it. It's vey well done. The story is crap. It's about a man and a woman (yawn) and the guy goes to hell to get her. It should be about a man going from hell to heaven to bring back his old boss who made his life miserable. Now it's payback time.
