Does anyone have any links to "experts" on results or studies on how working out with someone else increases results. I'm taking a psychology class and the subject we are studying is how the presence of someone else increases or decreases behavior/results. I keep reading that "experts always say you have much better results" but I've done some searching but haven't come up with a whole bunch of reports from the actual "experts" :sad2:

For some people working out with someone bigger / stronger makes them strive harder.

Then again, other people do better working out alone because you don't have to wait and you can hit the weights harder.

The more people that are around the less I'm inclined to look like a bitch and quit/fail on a rep.

    Good motivation for sure.

    Hm.

Most of the last 2 years I've spent working out alone and trying to gain weight. The last 2 months I've been working out with someone bigger and have actually gone up in weight.

Buy me a PH.D from one of those online places and you can quote that paragraph.

If you're covering social facilitation...it's your dominant response that gets triggered, so it depends...

I like it because I like to string workouts together to kill the other person... and in turn I get blasted too... it's great.
