I read the first 2 paragraphs and I agree completely.
i don't see a problem here and it wouldn't surprise me either way (men tend to dominate vs. women tend to dominate)
"Women are responsible for overseeing the relationship, making sure the relationship runs, that everything gets done, and that everybody's happy," Murphy said.
seems about right in my family.
If you subscribe to traditional gender roles, a woman SHOULD dominate in the household. The 50's sort of concept of a house wife with a big strong man going out to work is one of 'seperate but equal' equal power with seperate spheres of influence.
.. unless that role is being subtly enforced on people who would be happier otherwise
You mean most married guys let their wives control them?
This is not exactly breaking news.
I always assumed women ran the show because men let them. Like the woman wears the pants unless it's time for the man to, like because something serious or important is happening, and then the man becomes the leader. And then when he's done, he lets the woman think she's in control again.
edit - I didn't explain that well.
Oh wow. Is this the sort of relationship you want to be in?
As I said in my edit, I didn't explain it right at all. So I can't say "yes," because I would be saying yes to the wrong thing.
Just another study showing that men are whipped little pansies. Sure, it works, but it's like they live with their mothers. I used to be in relationships like that all the time and I always resented them.
My wife and I don't do that in our relationship. It's the other way around. That works for us.
