Well, first of all, I have a personal trainer on leg day to spot me and to push me as far as I can go, sometimes to the point of throwing up.

Yesterday he introduced something new to me: High intensity training.

We skipped legs and went on to arms. I never thought I'd ever have the urge to throw up doing barbell curls until yesterday. :wtc: My head is also throbbing with pain. ugh. My eyeballs nearly spit out of their sockets and I think I may have chipped a tooth. First, we took my normal weight for curls, which isn't really that much. two 25's plus the bar. Next, we cut that in half :ugh: I was able to really good form for about 20 reps. I felt good, but he then said I wasn't listening to him and that I wasn't taking my time. I have to slowly lift (very slowly) and slowly let it back down. So slow in fact I could only to about 6 reps with perfect form, then I had to start cheating. Got 3 more took a deep breath and did one last rep. Did that 4 MORE times, and I could not feel my arm. my Veins felt like they were going to explode out of my arms and they were starting to tingle quite a lot. Holy shit! My stomach didn't feel so good, had to sit down for about 10 minutes.

but my arms feel great! haven't felt this much pain since I first started seriously weight lifting about a 1 year ago. Use to just do it to keep in shape but now i wanna start building serious muscle.

If this is what it takes I may need roids. That's a lot of punishment. :o

Yeah I don't know about that hitting technique. I did the same number of sets and reps typical of going heavy and bulking but with much lighter weights. This seems like it would work if I could come up with the energy and motivation to nearly puke my guts out every single day, except weekends of course. It's almost suicidal training best left for the 16 to 19 year olds, not people like me rounding the corner to 30. The real test will be a full week of this shit.

My trainer hasn't drafted up a new routine yet, so we'll see. I usually workout m-f: legs, arms, shoulders, back, chest.

Now we're thinking of maybe wednesdays off as well as the weekends, with 30 minutes of jogging on arm and chest days and eliptical on back and leg day, along with all this HIT training. :eek4:

I don't know man. I'll try one week and see how it goes.
