Not sure if any of you have followed it, but this happened in Milwaukee fairly recently, and he sued the state/city (can't remember), and won. The state attorney general said you cannot be arrested for OCing for "disorderly conduct". Now the City of Madison thinks that they can pull this off. :mamoru:

If people are "scared" of seeing a law-abiding citizen who has a gun in a holster, fucking give us CCW. idiots

So it wasn't the police who initially stopped him, but some rainbow flavored citizen who "thought" it was dangerous to open carry?

I hope he appeals and wins. More "ammo" for our cause next time the CCW bill comes around. :x:

I think I might go down to State and repeat it. I'd love to have a settlement from the City.

    Want to join me? :x:

I stopped a BPD officer yesterday morning outside of an apartment building. I asked him how he felt about people OCing... His response was basically, It's your constitutional right, so I don't give a shit.

    Fucking love Idaho sometimes.

Strongly considering sending a letter certified mail to the local chief of police informing him of my intent to carry in small-town WI here. After recent events have proven to me that the police neither protect nor serve, I feel the need to provide my own home and personal security through carrying according to state law.

However, I think I may check with an attorney friend before I do anything on that one. She's politically like-minded with me, so I might be able to have an inside track on some legal advice. I'm not too concerned about having to deal with an ill-informed cop (that's kind of status quo here anyway), but I do worry about them confiscating my only decent sidearm... and I suspect nobody in town wants to see what happens if I try to OC my AK. :)

just because the Constitution guarantees you the right to something doesn't mean there isn't a stupid cop willing to shoot first and ask questions later

I'm just saying to keep your wits about you

I really hope WI can sort this shit out, and soon. I'm getting sick of this happening all the time.
Don't vote that dipshit governor back into office next time and you guys might actually get something accomplished over there.

Keep this up and you guys might actually end up with CCW, finally.
