I don't know if I get teh full effect from the Arnolds. I can't use a whole lot of weight because its very awkward having that infront of me like that. I've tried using 80's but that is too heavy. I tend to shift forward to much and sway a bit

Military presses I'm all go. I like the drive and the control I have on teh negative. Where do you guys bring it down to? If BB I bring it just to my ears, and DB I bring my arms to 90 degrees.

Arnolds are too rough on my shoulders.. I try to do them occassionally though. I do regular, palms facing forward in top of motion, palms facing ears in bottom of motion, and full ROM, being much more than 90%. I'd like to stop at 90, is it less productive IYO to go further?

I don't do either right now because of shoulder/rotator pain but I did a lot of heavy ass military presses and saw good results over the summer.

I like to mix it up a bit though. Do one for a few weeks then switch.

I like them both, but can't go real heavy with the arnolds

On DB presses, I touch my shoulders at the bottom of the lift and full extension all the way up. BB presses come all the way down to the top of my chest.

Arnolds, anything above the 60's hurt my rotator cuffs too much and I don't feel like I am getting a good lift.

i find arnolds hit the fromt delts good but when you get heavier with the weight it puts to much straign on the rotator it seems to me

how the hell do you get the bar all the way down to the chest without leaning back and involving your chest in it

I got stronger than the weight I was using :dunno:

Anyway, I only touch the top of my chest, right where my clavicle is, so it's not like I am dropping it that low.

I luv the arnolds... I usually do them sitting in a straight back bench to keep from over arching my back.. i noticed that my shoulders started to really hurt (rotator cuffs) when i would bring the weights together at the top, so i keep the movement straight up from my chin out to the sides a bit, to full extension, elbows slightly bent and really squeeze at the top of the movement. works great for me...

i feel arnolds are superior if done correctly. i give most credit to how well my shoulders look that the arnold press. always go wide.

Um... just because a thread had the word "military" doesn't mean it should be moved to Teh Barracks.

Don't like Arnold presses I prefer BB military press(touchin collarbone) or DB military press.
