So i'm in the sauna, and some skinny guido faggot comes in and i start talking to him. I go, "I usually use the sauna to pull water/salt out and just relax" he agrees and starts to tell me hes trying to lower his bf. I say, "bro you're like what 150-160? you're cut up how much lower you going to get" (my gym has this electric BF monitor thats 100% bullshit, but according to him its accurate)
So i disagree and tell him that a caliper test is the way to go not that shitty machine.

He says: Bro, i wrestled ok? I was 135 and at 2.5% BF, i know what i'm talking about and the water tests is complete bullshit too.

    fucking ignorance

Guy is a total idiot, but 2.5% is possible.

When I was in-season as a sophomore I hit 3%. My buddy hit 2.5%. Caliper tested (experienced tester)

Yeah, but is that even healthy? I've heard that guys should maintain a certain bf %, not sure what the number was, but it wasn't as low as 2.5%

Not to be nit-picky but 3%/2.5% Caliper tested is subcutaneous fat and doesn't take into account visceral like the bodpod does. True total BF is higher :mamoru:

Maybe it's a wrestler thing. My uncles wrestled in high school and swears up and down he was 3% at the time. I saw plenty of picture of him. He was just thin, not even all that lean. The general public has a warped idea about body fat.

    also true.

I'm sure a lot of them like to believe they're 3%, and aren't.

I was skeptical about being all the way down to 3%, but it seemed close enough. I had an 80 min weights class in the am, 3 hour practice in the afternoon, and then ran for 5-6 miles with 10lbs of "gear" on during the night.

I'm getting to this point too. Too many idiots that ask question just to argue what I say with their bro-science or whatever. I don't even like talking nutrition/lifting with people who are not dedicated and have experience.

It's not healthy at all, but then again amateur wrestling has always been considered a terrible thing to put your body through. I had a buddy who would cut 15 or so lbs to hit weight before a meet, and you'd always be on your guard around him because it looked like he was about to fall over at any given minute and you'd have to catch him.

My one buddy is like that. I'm not a lifting/nutrition pro by any stretch, but I know my fair share. He comes to me for advice and I open my bible of truth on him and he starts to argue with me like it's blasphemy or something. I was like :ugh:, and continued lifting.

That is one of my worst nightmares.I'm constantly shoving food down my throat to make sure it never happens.Cause you never know,it can just creep up on you sometimes. You go to bed at 11% bodyfat and you wake up the next morning at 6%.I'd be like what the fuck,I look like a freak now.

There's so much useless, incorrect information flying around in magazines in and in newspapers. Articles written by opinion and not fact or doctors being paid off by big companies to sign their name on an article to endorse it. It's enough to confuse alot of people, especially when you see a doctor's name associated to something. Alot of people will take that as undeniable proof.

It's embarrassing and frustrating to be in a conversation with someone who is saying all kinds of stupid, false things. You want to be polite and you're always torn between helping them or pretending to agree with them.

I have a question about the wrestling though. I thought that wrestling competitions had weight brackets, so guys that are naturally big or naturally small could adjust to compete in different brackets. Or is the heaviest bracket anorexia?
