I went to turn my computer on this morning, and when I did, it wouldn't boot up just a little(I can't get to a dos prompt or into safe mode... anything like that)... and says something like system boot failure, insert system disk and hit enter... and as its turning on to get to that point, a ticking sound is coming from my hard drive... what should I do?(I'm posting from a different computer obviously)

try creating a boot disk from the HD manufacture's website.

if that does work you can send it away to get it low level formatted but by this point you might as well toss it and get a new one.HD's are dirt cheap nowadays.
    $1 = 1gb

I think what Kabuko is asking is what brand of hard drive you have. IBM Deskstar hard drives (the 75GXP, IIRC, and probably others) are known for being unreliable.
