from most recent to the furthest back i can remember....
my step brother was reserve Field Arty
cousin was a Marine for a bit
dad served in the 101 in the late 50s
My uncle was in the AF stationed in Spain. Married my aunt. Thats how my fam ended up over here.
grandfather was a Sergeant under Franco for many years in Spain
distant member of my family tree was the air force general under Franco(hes more of a decendent from the same seed than a relative)
great great grandfather was Gen. Fransisco Vicente Aguilera, one of the original conspirators and leaders of the Cuban War of Independence.
I'll be the first officer in the US military.
My Dad was an Ammo Troop in the AF for 10 years.
Few aunts and uncles who've done time in the military.
Both my grandfather and father were in the Navy (Ordnance and Aircraft Maintenance). I'm enlisted in the Army.
My great grandfather was in the Army during WWII and was killed in Europe. Great uncle was SF during Vietnam if I remember correctly.
My father could not serve due to a heart condition. Both of my grandfathers served.
My Moms Dad was an e-6 on the diesel boats in WWII-Pacific Theater, belonged to the Organization Submarine Veterans of WWII
My Dads Dad was in the Army Aircorp, Signal Battalion, European Theater
My Dads Stepdad was on a Heavy Cruiser in The Pacific
Myself, Im a Air Trans Journeyman with four more years to go till retirement
first...some how my immediate family missed every draft the US has ever had
My Grandma was in the nurses corp, Grandfather in the Army Air Corp, Dad was in the Navy.
All the men on my fathers side have served in some form or fashion.
Men dating back to my great-great grandfather on my mothers side.
My uncle was in the Navy. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
i can trace my family's military back to the revolution. father and son served in the CSA, both world wars. mom navy, and uncle airforce, me army
Every male in my family, out to 2nd cousins, has served in the military back to the revolutionary war. My Grandfather did WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.
I'll fill my bit I guess,
I'm third generation officer.
My grandfather was in the Army, enlisted. During WW2 he received a field commission. retired totaling 26 years. My father was AF academy, 26 years retired. One uncle in the USCG, another was a boot on the ground in the Marines -- he doesn't talk about it much -- 2-3 tours infantry. Other grandfather was a GS, friends with the President, I think it was Truman.
My uncle, the USCG one, is big on family history. I know we go back to at least the civil war, I need to get details on prior to that.
I'm currently the only one in my extended family(out to second cousin) that I know is currently in the service.
my grandpa killed a lot of japs in china. then he killed a lot of commies.
dad was in the AF for 20 years, uncle in the coasties, grandpa who fought in WW2. I'm not sure on the lineage after that.
i'm second generation military.
my parents both served in the navy, my mom did 8 years and got out as a first class and my dad did 25 years retiring as a chief.
does required service count? cuz if thats the case...every male in my family as far as i know...going back a long ways
(i'm korean - mil service is req in korea)
im planning on serving as an officer in the marines after college
im in the army, my dad was in the army, my grandfather was in the navy, and my uncle was in the marines. i don't know much about either side of my family. so im not sure if their were more.
Let's see... two uncles were Coast Guard, one grandfather was in the 101st, one in a California training unit (he'd lost an eye as a kid, couldn't go to combat), and one was on the West Virginia during WWII. Prior to that, I don't have a great handle on the family history. My understanding is that one side goes back to the Cossacks eventually. Pretty deep, but somewhat selective in whom the military bug bites. Oh yeah, and my own six in Cavalry.
my grandfather was navy, my father is army, i am army
No one that I know in my family has been in the Military. But there are two other people with my last name in the Army.
The only people that I'm aware of that have been in the military are:
My uncle, CAPT Navy (Ret.) Rescue Blackhawk Pilot, he's currently a GS13 working for the Navy in Honolulu. One of his 3 sons is a Marine reservist.
Two cousins that were in the Coast Guard for a single enlistment each. One was an FS and the other was a BM.
Then there's me...enlisted in the USCG in Jul 2001.
2nd in my family, first was my brother,
forgot, my uncle was in the army and went into korea...i suck
Well.. if my dad was in the army but got out before my sisters and I were born.. and both of my Grandpas and some of my aunts and uncles were in the military... where does that put me?
