My uncle was in the AF stationed in Spain. Married my aunt. Thats how my fam ended up over here.
grandfather was a Sergeant under Franco for many years in Spain
distant member of my family tree was the air force general under Franco(hes more of a decendent from the same seed than a relative)

Both my grandfather and father were in the Navy (Ordnance and Aircraft Maintenance). I'm enlisted in the Army.

My great grandfather was in the Army during WWII and was killed in Europe. Great uncle was SF during Vietnam if I remember correctly.

I'll fill my bit I guess,

    I'm third generation officer.

My grandfather was in the Army, enlisted. During WW2 he received a field commission. retired totaling 26 years. My father was AF academy, 26 years retired. One uncle in the USCG, another was a boot on the ground in the Marines -- he doesn't talk about it much -- 2-3 tours infantry. Other grandfather was a GS, friends with the President, I think it was Truman.

My uncle, the USCG one, is big on family history. I know we go back to at least the civil war, I need to get details on prior to that.

I'm currently the only one in my extended family(out to second cousin) that I know is currently in the service.

Let's see... two uncles were Coast Guard, one grandfather was in the 101st, one in a California training unit (he'd lost an eye as a kid, couldn't go to combat), and one was on the West Virginia during WWII. Prior to that, I don't have a great handle on the family history. My understanding is that one side goes back to the Cossacks eventually. Pretty deep, but somewhat selective in whom the military bug bites. Oh yeah, and my own six in Cavalry.

The only people that I'm aware of that have been in the military are:

My uncle, CAPT Navy (Ret.) Rescue Blackhawk Pilot, he's currently a GS13 working for the Navy in Honolulu. One of his 3 sons is a Marine reservist.

Two cousins that were in the Coast Guard for a single enlistment each. One was an FS and the other was a BM.

Then there's me...enlisted in the USCG in Jul 2001.
