I keep hearing these SNAP noises... and my frames per second has really sucked it up lately. How does it even work?

ugh, I am having weird problems.
My computer will freeze after 15 minutes or so if its just sitting there or being lightly used.
Playing Mass Effect will cause it to not lock up.. GPU temp gets to like 110C (normal?)

I take the video card out and use onboard video and it no longer locks up.

    Overheating.

Start by cleaning all the dust out of everything - especially the videocard.

Then take a good hard look at airflow, is your PC located in a spot (such as in a cabinet) that restricts airflow?

Then take a look at the internal fans. Are they all working? Do you have enough?

PC case very clean and have had case off for more airflow.
I've had this setup for about two years

the snaps are the caps popping. that card is pretty much useless now for gaming like you are experiencing.

    get a new vid card

Yes, they are bulging, and therefore shot. The popping sound you hear is the top label splitting. Your frame rates dropped because the available voltage decreased due to lack of stored energy in the capacitors.

    110 C?

Throw that away, you are risking damage to your other components by using it.

Ehh.. I am going to try out my soldering skills and try to repair it. I'll let you know if it destroys the rest of the computer

Only had a one year warranty. I've had it for about two.

You joke, but I've actually done that before. Those video cards are still working fine.

Dunno why they still use electrolytic capacitors inside computers nowadays. High-capacity ceramic capacitors have been around for years.
