my company laptop is locked when it comes to installing stuff... so that's out of the question unless I find a way to access the admin user.

So my question is... are there any online sites that scan for spyware for available for free ?

    Ah, you mean ANTI-spyware.

I don't think there are any that can run a scan without installing themselves, because web apps don't usually have permission to run as a local user with all the rights and privileges necessary to actually do anything useful.

I'm probably wrong, though. I never once even looked for one that could do what you need.

Question: if you're not the admin, why do you care? Take it to IT and ask them to scan it.

Why can't you ask your IT guy? The computer is locked from installing stuff for a good reason.

Yes go to Trend house call, it willscan for all spyware and remove for free. This takes some time to achieve, you must run this on IF or Mozzilla brower.

    No it doesn't...

He's probably just one of those guys who knows just enough to be extremely dangerous to himself, and he figures he'll maintain his own machine instead of bugging IT every five minutes.
