...That use real-time fighting? None of that stuff where you double click your enemy, go into battle mode, and try to stay close to him, while using the occasional special skill. I'm talking about real fighting, like in the Dynasty Warriors games, Star Wars Battlefront, Mortal Kombat, etc.

I looked it up, I couldn't find much about it seeing as pretty much everything is in Japanese. I'm tired of the system in WoW or Ultima Online, where you engage them as an enemy, and then the game decides how much damage you do, how fast you attack, how accurate you are, etc, based on your skills/stats, and all you can really do is stay close to your enemy. I'm for a game where you do most of the actual fighting, so lets say you hit A, B, or C to do a variety of different melee attacks, another button to block, one to do a special attack, a variety of buttons for different spells, etc. Do you get what I mean?

I don't know what game you are playing, but in WoW it doesn't matter how close you stay to the enemy, you have to have good timing and especially have to be skilled in BG. noob.

I've only played WoW for about 10 minutes before, and while the fighting was a little more intense than Ultima Online (which I used to play for quite a while), it was still.... Meh. I'm looking for a MMORPG thats goes more along the fighting style of Dynasty Warriors, Star Wars Battlefront, Streets of Rage, etc.

The Matrix Online has a rather complex combat system. I know ALOT of people got frustrated and pissed off with it, and said it doesn't work, but I spent alot of time trying to figure out the combat system, and it ended up working pretty nicely for me. If you're looking for something challenging, I'd check out MXO.

i never quite figured out the combat system in mXo... it really weirded me out... the overland world was nice, but the repetitive instanced missions bored me.. they all looked pretty much the same to me :dunno:

has mXo changed at all? i played it for a couple hours back at launch... now that SOE has taken over it, is it any differrent?

Take a look at the chronicles of spellborn (tcos.com) as well. The combat system sounds pretty interesting.

on't know if it's still going or not but RYL (risk your life) is a hybri of the two combat systems an it's a perfect mix for range an melee. I wasn't able to play the game though after i got to a high lvl because when it use to be in beta the prices were inflate waaaaay to much. but i' efinitely check it out, best combat i've ha in an mmorpg so far it's combat is amazing it feels like you can actually use stratagy.

i ha a sorcerer an woul climb to the top of the highest builing in one of the first pvp towns an there woul be higher lvls raiing it an i' just snipe em... untill one foun me an rippe me to shres. i't was great fun an an unerate game, check it out!

are there private servers for it? I've heard most of the public ones are dead.

  25. There is only one public server.

I doubt a private server would work.
