MMA Are slams typically allowed at grappling competitions?

    yes just not to get yourself out of subs.

    The ones I've been to, no. Like wrestling suplex sure, because its considered a takedown. But like pick up off the ground on one shoulder and actually slam, no.

    you can slam on a takedown but you cant pick someone up when theyre already on the ground and slam them

    In judo tourneys we were allowed to. However, "slamming" kind of depended on how they took the fall. If you went for a shoot and picked them up and in the process slamming them down, it was all good, if not smiled upon.

    as far as i know in the rules of grapplers quest/naga it says no slamming. I think if you sort of do it during a takedown its ok, but if you walk aroudn with the guy lifted and then slam him intentionally that may not be ok.

    IE no guard slams or slams to get out of triangles, etc

    Rawr, I would love to slam to get outa a triangle in a grappling competition. I didn't do all those squats and deadlifts for nothing!

    But then again, it is a pretty cheap way to get outa submission and the other person could get hurt so I understand at the same time.. damn it..
