    never heard of 'em. for buy one, get 2 free, if they're not made out of some goddawful fabric, they fit decently, and the tailoring is acceptable, what do you have to lose?

    It's a famous and pretty old outfitter. They are really more known for outdoor cloth (for going camping, fishing, yachting etc.), but I imagine the suits would be decent quality. Won't look very good though. Like Yard said buy for your dad.

    Jos A Bank stock went from $5 a share to $25 a share from 2001 to 2002. So apparently some people were buying them.

    General consensus on SF is that they're good "workhorse" suits and worth the price when they have their omghuegsales, but the fit is basically a typical American sack suit

    i have a few of their shirts. the quality is pretty damn good but I think most of their stuff has to be tailored

    i bought an olive/tannish color suit and extra pants from them like 4 years ago. It's was like their business traveler suit or something like that. the fit was ok, the material has held up well. Got the whole deal for around $100-$150 iirc. the shirts seem pricey (but i'm kinda a cheapskate)

    I bought a suit from them because I had no other place that I knew of to go and had to spend 150 more dollars to get it tailored somewhere else to get it fit right. I havn't worn it yet outside of the fitting room but I think it works.

    The fabric and fit are shit... not Men's Warehouse shit, but just a notch above that.

    But if you're into that whole refrigerator look, then you can't do much better.

    I'm sorry.

    What is SF?

    What's a workhorse suit?

    What's a sack suit?

    I went there once to look around a few years ago and they were trying to sell to me so hard. I was like wtf? I left with nothing.

    My bad!

    SF = styleforum

    Workhorse suit = a suit that you can wear every day of the week or in shitty weather without caring about damaging it

    Sack suit = a suit that doesn't taper from the chest to the waist, so it hangs like a "sack" - it's pretty much the standard American cut

    I used to work there, the suits are fine. They aren't top-of-the-line, but they look nice and hold up well. Don't buy anything unless it's on sale like that though. Everything is marked up like woah. Kinda like the Honda Accord of men's businesswear. It holds up well, it looks pretty nice, it's at a good price, but it's not going to be the coolest thing on the block.
