If so, they need to stop. They need to stop producing and get rid of all their inventory. Once they do that, they can start producing again, but hopefully they'll figure out the demand aspect of a business rather than just making a million of every car they come up with.

Obama wants bailout money to go TO the fucking UAW.

commence long failure, we'll continue this at a later date if that shit happens.

GM doesn't need to figure out the demand in the market. Lord Obama and RFK, Jr. wants Americans to drive Chevy Aveos and Ford Fiestas.

I'm very tempted to buy their stock at this price, christ... lowest since 1943.

  7. they just need to plant the white flag and admit defeat. that's what happens in a free market, you succeed or you fail.

Of course they are. They are planning on exporting thousands of Buicks to China.

they have operational costs that cannot just be put on hold. they rely on their production for profit.. I have to believe that shutting down factories would be digging the hole deeper, unless they can find a way to cut back on their operational costs quickly

Bro, that's the ticket! Just rebadge all excess GM inventory as Buicks and sell them in China. Those chongs wouldn't know the difference.

let them file for bankruptcy and force them to get their shit together themselves or we'll just be right back here again in a few years.

due to contracts they have, they would still be on the hook for costs associated with keeping that factory running..

the factory is dark, but they're still paying for a portion of its operation, and the factory is not producing a product to recoup that cost.

    hole becomes deeper

they are not factoring in the employee burden into their cost per vehicle. They are probably losing 50% for each car they sell.
