Are Egg Beaters Healthy?

I read some differing opinions. One side is that they are simply egg whites enriched with vitamins and minerals. Other side says either "It's a bunch of chemicals made to substitute eggs" or acknowledges they are made with egg whites and vitamins, but claims the sodium content is way too high.

What do you guys think about using Egg Beaters as a substitute to using eggs (white + yolk). Please note, I really don't feel like manually seperating yolks from the white, as I usually make my breakfast on a very constrained time schedule.

How healthy are they for a regular person who is trying to maintain their current weight to use for breakfast or lunch?

I know they have Guar Gum or Xanthan Gum or some shit in them. I used to run test labs mixing that shit up when I worked for my parents years ago and that shit was naaaasty! When I saw that on the Egg Beaters package, I could never bring myself to eat it anymore.

Oh, and that Guar Gum and Xanthan Gum shit basically turns to snot when you add water, and it won't fucking wash off... your hands just stay coated with this snot/jizz crap for hours.

They're too expensive. Just eat some real ass eggs. I go through 4 18 egg cartons a week for the price of two breakfasts worth of egg beaters.

Not quite, if your prone to producing more cholesterol in your liver and you take in more it can make it worse .

...and if you do it everyday you become quite adept at doing it. I haven't broken a yolk in about 4-5 months eating 5 eggs a day.

If you are willing to spend the $$ on egg beaters. Just buy the carton of already separated egg whites.

Egg beaters are fine, and convenient. real eggs are cheaper, I always just separate my own.
