Mark Rippletoe says that there is a difference. He says that there are the ones everyone uses that hurt the wrist and that there are other ones that are thick as seatbelts that supposedly doesn't put as much strain on the wrist. Haven't ever seen them so :dunno:

i bought some harbingers from my college gym store for like 10$. they worked well, started to wear down after a couple years.

one of my training partners has many that have lasted 5+ years, but all of them eventually break down.

i just picked up the spud straps because they seemed to be extra heavy duty.

I wanna get wrist wraps because I've had wrist issues in the past but I don't wanna seem like a bitch because I don't press a ton of weight.

my new ones cost 18$, shipped.

but they industrial strength... weight tested for something absurd like 800 pounds or whatever. basically, strong enough that even if i were a top lifter in the world, my shoulder, elbow or wrist would give out before the strap.

i'm a sucker for heavy duty industrial strength shit :o its so badass

i have the spud straps, they're thicker than an airline seatbelt and don't cut into my wrists. Will probably last a lifetime unless I lose them.
