My SGW stop sign lower will not lock a pmag into place. It will take a colt or cproducts mag just fine. I have tried screwing the release in more. Does anyone make a larger catch?

You could try a different brand of mag catch or maybe an ambidextrous one. It sounds more like a mag problem though, is the pmag not going in far enough? Can you see where the catch hits the mag? Will it lock in with the bolt back?

I can feel the catch move. I'm not sure exactly why it is not locking in. I have swapped catch's between the 2 lowers and it did not help.

If you pull the upper off you might be able to get an idea of where the catch hits or misses the indention on the mag.

Is the front curved part hitting the magwell? Sounds like a similar problem that SW had with the early MP 15s. You may need to dremel the curved surface on the front of the mag so it seats properly.

    1. is the magpull seating all the way? If not break out the sand paper as some times they are a little out of spec.
    2. is your mag catch cranked down all the way? Push the catch in with a pen and give it a couple more rotations.

Are the mags loaded with 30rds? Are you inserting the mag on a closed bolt?

All of them don't work but fit fine in my bushmaster. Lock right in. I think something is goofy with my magwell.
