i been looking for a RRA stripped lower for the past few days and everyplace that sells them for $125 are sold out so i have to wait about 6 weeks for them to restock.

whats a another good company to go with? i see alot of stags, CMMG, superior arms, Sabre Defence, and more.

whats a good brand to go with? just curious on what people think. thanks!

I have a stag and a double star. The stag seems to operate just fine, my double star seems fine, haven't tried it out yet though since it's still stripped.

I would just do a Stag. My SLR15 is on a Superior and it is great too.

I would never purchase a billet receiver over a receiver machined from a forged blank.

    Stag, Sabre, RRA...

I would not go CMMG. They seem to have spec/size issues with their stuff sometimes.

Built 4 Double Stars. No problems with fit and finish.

Got a DPMS over a RRA and Stag when I built mine. The finish on the RRA was crappy and it was $30 more. As for the Stag ... it really boiled down to the utterly trivial issue of preferring a panther on the side over a deer.

Forged > Billet every day of the week where strength is concerned. Some people just like the sound of "billet" though...

I have a Sabre Defence that is a nice little piece. From what I understand there are really only a few manuf's that make the parts for a lot of the retailers but they are all pretty decent.

Main thing you are looking for is fit and machining tolerance, I highly doubt that any of them are going to come apart on you so really it's just a matter of how well they go together.

When I get around to a build (which is on the list) I will most likely be going with Spike's Tactical.

I agree with no7fish its seems to be that many companies sell lowers branded as their own, but no where near that many companies exist to manufacture.

Most immediately, I recall the giffman middy barrels that got shipped with the gas port mis-measured, making it impossible to use a standard handguard and FSB. There's lots of good, bad, and ugly on AR15.com.

I've heard plenty of good about them as well, but to my mind, there are plenty of 100% companies out there, why deal with a 95%?

I picked up a CMMG at the Houston Gunshow this weekend; Seems fine. Was looking for an RRA but everyone at the show was sold out / backordered.

any brand other than vulcan will be fine. it just depends on what markings you want on the side.
