i currently have a Spec-Ops MAMBA 3-point sling. there's too much extra to get hung up with it. Could someone recommend a good 1-point/ adapter combo.

    VLTOR single point H&K mount

ASP Gen1 1 pt sling with H&K stub (check out my abs....now I just need some time in the sun)

I've got a new sling coming with the hardware to mount a 2pt (quick release swivels). Realistically
for any sort of travelling the 2pt would be better.

I recommend Blue Force Gear's single-point. It is FAR more comfortable than the Wilderness or Specter Gear single-points. The sling webbing is softer on your neck, the sling is more adjustable, and the overall quality is generally better. Better buckles than the Specter, and better webbing than the Wilderness. I use a Daniel Defense Burnsed Loop, which is their single-point sling doohickey. Ashley Burnsed is its namesake, and he's also the head-honcho at Blue Force Gear.

I dislike extra length in a single-point sling. The smaller the loop and the shorter the connection to the rifle, the better. It is VERY annoying for a rifle to hang lower than it has to. Trying to walk, run, drag someone, or otherwise do ANYTHING without your rifle up is very frustrating without making your sling really work for you. That is the single most annoying thing about single point slings to me. A good two-point puts the rifle in a different spot when you transition or otherwise take both hands off the rifle.

When you have a hot silencer on the end of your muzzle, this becomes particularly important. Maybe for most users, it's not a big deal. I almost wholly shoot only with a can on my rifle. You become very aware of your muzzle when it sears your flesh as it swings around your shins.

i looked at that one but its adds more length to the rifle and my case is a 32" discreet Blackhawk. My ar is already tip to tip with a little bulge, any longer and the gun wont fit

i'm trying to decide between the Gear Sector ASP sling with there loop attachment or the MOUT with GG&G. The ASP looks really good and the review on the adapter were good. Seems u can fully collapse the stock with the Gear adapter.

i was like that forever. at first i wanted the MOUT. but the ASP looks good and free shipping with that made it cheaper than the MOUT w/ dd adapter. ASP has extra buckle on it

yeah. either way i'll need a snap hook for my H&K style sling adapter.

    gear sector does offer this:

but its almost $10 more than the plain piece of metal i posted earlier.

:dunno: i'll have to think about it more, but im leaning towards the ASP

when you get it post pics + review :x:

Order the stuff from Gear Sector. After reading this thread I ordered an ASP sling, mount and a wrench from them Thursday at about 5:00 mountain time, about 6:00 I got an email on my blackberry saying the order was packed and ready to be shipped. I received my sling yesterday morning, and all of the gear is top not so far.

As far as I can tell, a great company. Jason, the owner, through either an automated system or himself, kept in constant contact and seems earnestly concerned with customer feedback.

Cliffs: Gear Sector is a great company, do business with them. Now.
