I intend on removing the front sight because I'll have a RDS on the upper. In other words, I don't want a co-witness once it's been sighted in: do I need to replace the front sight with some sort of piece or can I simply remove it and call it a day?

Like I said, be gentle. :hs:

the FSB is also your gasblock. So it must either be replaced with a low-profile gas block.... or get out your dremel and hack away.

yea. I'd recommend the dremel tho. cheaper, and a LOT easier.

i'd say go with a picatinny gas block, in case you do want to put a front sight on later down the road

It's already been said, but just dremel down your factory FSB.
