it's a Rock river Arms 16" flat top upper 1/9" twist, with a flash hider. no bolt, charging handle or carrier. it's 285 for the whole thing. should i buy it? and will it fit on an Armalite lower?

thanks. what do ya'll think? good price? i offered him 250 but i don't think he'll bite. i'm comfortable doing 285, but i wanna see if i can haggle a bit. i'm tryin to be careful, b/c it is a very good price, so i don't want someone to buy it before i can.

i've got it narrowed down to this or a 11.5" pistol flat top upper with a 5" flash hider to make it legal. and that's 225+ shipping. i have been wanting a nice accurate flat top. been wanting to change pace from my plain old match A2 upper. hard choice:noes:

I've picked up a stripped RRA flattop upper for 50 bucks before. Honestly though its just not an upper I'd be too interested in hence the lower price.

Yeah, it's RRA stuff, so it's not exactly high on the resale value. I don't think you got screwed or anything, but you didn't really get the deal of the century. Myself, I would hate the configuration. I'm not sure what you're wanting to do with it, but no front sight base and a FF tube are not features I look for. Also, if it's not chrome lined, you wasted your money entirely.

i'm sure i could have gotten a better deal like your 50 , but that's a once in a while thing. i was tired of looking so i just sprung for it. it's listed as 560 on RRA website, so i figured it was a good deal.

it is chrome lined. i was looking for a varmint configuration for a good price. i was looking for something around the 20" range, but i figured the 16" will do just fine for any distance i'll use it. i was also looking for something i could suppress in the near future and a 16" barrel plus a suppressor will be a little longer than i would want anyway. since this has a removable flash hider and standard threads, it won't be too hard to make a nice suppressed set up. plus i wanted a compact one instead of some big ass set up, since i already have a 20" A2 national match.

i forgot to mention it's a new receiver and FF tube, only the barrel has about 100 rounds through it. and he threw in the scope mount.

damn. is that a 24? that's sorta what i want my set up to be, but smaller. i dont' need it for anything beyond 200 yards. that's when i reach out and touch things w/ my armalite national match.

edit: oh, and where'd you get that bipod mount? also, what kind of can is that?

Yeah its a 24 inch barrel, the tri rail came from bushmaster, then theres a attachment for the rail to the bipod which came from some random place I can't remember from the top of my head. I'm not a distance shooter, but my nephew is and I've seen him take out a prairie dog at some 500 yards which was impressive enough for me.

Editted to add it's an AWC Raider

yea, if i need to hit something that far, i'll just use my A2. plus it's going to double as a .22lr upper b/c i have nowhere to shoot .223 where i live, unless i wanna drive 30 minutes. how effective is that suppressor?

ohh. i have no experience suppressing a high power rifle. i have a can for my .22, which i'll use on this when i have my m261 kit in. i wish i had thought before i spent the 200 dollar stamp on it and just bought a .223 suppressor that i could use for either one:wtc:

It's always nice having a dedicated 22 can for the pistols.
