what do you guys know about these kits?

    http://www.del-ton.com/detail.aspx?ID=1104

that kit looks complete minus a stripped lower. i could get one of those for < 100 on gunbroker and that puts me < 600 for the whole thing, right? :o

would i be better off doing that and then upgrading the stock/gas block/front rail, etc and selling off the stuff or upgrading from that site?

spend the extra for chrome lined barrel, depending what you want might wanna just upgrade it on the site, the flip up sight gas block upgrade is a fair price

Good kits to make a "just enough" rifle, but don't expect 1" groups at 200 yards with these kits. That said, these kits are fine for 95% of people who just want a plinking AR. You can search ar15.com and calguns.net, this topic's been discussed before.

None personally, I'll relay what I've heard there kits are usually pretty good but in the rare cases that theres something wrong with the kit there customer service is a real bitch to deal with. ymmv
