If you don't know how a firearm works you can do some serious damage. This guy was lucky he walked away from this AR kb.

I guess my point is just be careful. Learn before doing. Guns aren't forgiving of stupidity or ignorance.

ps- Where can I buy a kevlar full body suit to match my kevlar gloves???

Guess he didn't know he needed one??? :ugh:

    Yikes.

If I shot an AR one time and it didn't cycle but the bolt moved freely it would say to me, "there's something wrong with the gas system." This guy just kept racking in rounds manually until his rifle blew.

Someone made a good point in that thread. With the AWB sunset AR factories are probably working overtime to keep up with production. Mistakes are going to happen. Too bad a few of the people buying these guns don't even know when they are missing a very important internal part. Scary.

if you've never owned an AR before, you don't know what to look for. he didn't know what a normal pull on the chargin handle should feel like, and didn't know to hit the forward assist when shooting. yet another reason that i make it a habit to hit the forward assist every time i let go of the charging handle or the mag release.

Yes, but did you read the thread? This had nothing to do with his shitty ammo and everything to do with his bolt carrier not having a gas key.

I wouldn't recomend someone who has never used a computer before to build one. Or someone who has never driven a car or worked on them to build an engine.

Common sense. First gun should be factory before you know the gun from inside out.

Simple parts check would've saved him the hassle, but he's ok and has a great attitude about the whole thing.
