I'm looking to pick up a few stripped lowers. I've been doing due dilligence on arfcom but have to make the obligatory "ask WMD" post...

I seem to get the feeling that RRA & Lauer (by LMT) are preferred for stripped lowers... and that any of the stuff by CMT (Stag, Global Tactical and probably a bunch of others) are real good too. Does that sound about right?

I just got a Mega lower. The finish is awesome. I got it from rainierarms.com

I got a Mega lower and would never again. They don't use a standard finish and tend to have more tolerance issues. My local class III dealer went to engrave it for an SBR project and the "anodizing" just chipped away- mind you my RRA lower he did came out perfect. He called the dealer who I got it from who wasn't much help, Mega refused to do anything. I've since confirmed with others that the finish they use is not the standard mil-spec finish used by the majority of manufacturers. run away.

for ~$10 more than mega you can pick up any of the better quality lowers.

Stag lowers are just as good as the RRAs or others in the price range.

I found a couple of places that have both Lauers & RRA's in stock... and it seems like Stag's are usualy pretty available so I should all set.

Hopefully I can get a pair ordered next week.

I'd go with the Stag usually less money, I have 2 Stags that I assembled and I helped my buddy do a RRA, fit and finish on both were top notch. RRA just paying more for the name with the RRA's.
