I'm going to have to go with this.

Too much attention is paid to optics, and damn little paid to proper shooting technique with irons.

When you get to the point that you can make consistent bull ring shots at 300m with irons, then go to optics, IMO.

    Iron sights FTMFW.

At the last SFDCC match, they decided not to allow optics and 99% of the people there had Aimpoints, ACOG's, and EOTech's and all of them had to take them off. They fucking sucked, the guys who normally kicked ass in the matches were absolutely horrible with iron sights.

true test of skill. when the FSP is bigger than the target, mastery all of the marksmanship fundamentals are necessary.

I'm probably 6/10 @ 500.. been awhile since I had to do it.

Last time I tried, I was about 3/10 offhand at 300 on pepper poppers with irons. This was a while ago, and I'm probably worse now.

I want to grind down my damned FSP, because on a 16" carbine, that shit is so close and huge in the apperture, it pisses me off. I'd get a NM FSP, but I don't have an F-marked FSB, so I need one of the taller FSP's in order to actually zero my rifle. They don't make the tall FSP's in the NM sizes, that I've seen.

i can't even see the aiming black at that distance. i just aim at the bottom of the number board and zero my sights accordingly

i have more firearms than my AR you flaming tard. i like how you changed "AR" to "firearms". quit trolling like a faggot.

  20. You'll give a fuck about it's killing power the day you have to defend yourself with your weapon, but that will be the last day you ever give thought to anything again.

if i have to defend myself, i'd rather use my Sig .40, or my HK 9mm. why the fuck would i go for my 14 pound COMPETITION AR when i have those for self defense? you people just don't like to listen.

Eotech 512 mounted directly on a flat top, and an aimpoint m2 with the gooseneck mount. I like the eotech's 1 MOA dot better than the aimpoint, but the aimpoint still sersves its purpose
