I just picked up a troy folding rear sight the other day for $90 to replace the cheap sight I had been using. I'm going to head out to the range to get it zeroed but I'm not sure what I should zero it at.

I'm going to use my rifle to plink around, HD, and the occasional coyote or wild boar.

BTW I'm not running an electronic sight yet and probably won't for a while.

50 is probably a good medium range zero, it's what I plan to zero my rifles at.

Thanks for the links, there's some good info in there.

I found that Winchester has a pretty good ballistics calculator here are the specs:

    50 yd Zero

    0 ___ -2.1
    50 ___ 0
    100 _ +1.1
    150 _ +1.2
    200 __ 0

    100 yd Zero

    0 ___ -2.1
    50 __ -0.6
    100 __ 0
    150 _ -0.5
    200 _ -2.2

I think I'm going to end up using the 50 yd because I'd have two zero points and having my point of impact just above my sights on intermediate ranges makes more sense IMO.
