Who makes a 16 or 14.5 midlength pencil barrel?

Also, what's the easiest slickside flattop upper to acquire? I know I've seen a 9mm upper that'd requIre the gas port be drilled. Any others? Is the dpms flat top rail height to spec?

  2. RRA offers an upper with a LW middy barrel, but it's not .625" (or .650 or whatever it is) all the way forward. It's .750" under the handguard.

  3. The only way you're getting a 14.5" middy LW is to make one out of something else. Since CMMG stopped making them they're not available new anymore.

I see RRA has one that's .625 everywhere but the gas block. I could handle that but god knows what the backorder time is.

  6. I don't know on the barrel itself. I know PK has the complete upper in stock.

Check with ADCO, if anyone has the RRA barrel he will and if not, I know he does a lot of custom turning of barrels and might be able to turn down a regular RRA barrel for you.

I'd prefer to find a barrel itself so I can put it on a slickside upper...

Lol, ask for middy lightweight and I get carbine heavy.

  15. As least he hasn't recommended a VIS yet.

Srsly though, you will have to have a 14.5" LW middy made if you want one, or you can use something like a 16" LW middy from RRA, or you can wait for BCM's barrels. That's pretty much what you're looking at right now.

im not really all that insistent on a 14.5" and a pinned FH over a 16 and a FH.

i just want middy and light profile .

  17. For the time being, the RRA barrel is your best choice then.

What's with the fucking fagotry in this forum. Good luck with a gas system longer than your barrel :hsugh: and the noveske and rainier are both midweight and most likely lighter than your pencil 14.5. More importantly you removing weight from the end of the rifle.

  19. I'm more than 100% sure it was a joke. And I'm sure he knows that a heavier profile barrel that's short will still be light, but he made a point of asking for a specific thing.

    i wasn't serious on the 10" thing.

will the 10.5" be lighter than a pencil 14.5? maybe, maybe not. it certainly won't be lighter on the pocketbook.

seriously though, what's the minimum barrel length on a midlength gas system? :o

  23. 14.5 is the shortest i've ever seen it.
