Looking to pick up an AR. Really like the look of the quad rail M&P/556. Any other suggestions?

Also, can't find any M&P 15T locally. How much do they run?

Buy a complete AR and learn to shoot with irons. No need for rails or anything.

M&P15T should be around $1200-$1300. For that much I'd get something else.

Just piece together a similar one for $800ish. If you're not familiar with AR parts just buy a stripped lower and then order a rifle kit from del-ton or something.

You know what's fucked up? I have to pay $25 to pick up a stripped lower from a FFL. That's like 1/4 the cost of the thing!

The M&P15X is a lot of gun for the money.

You won't be able to piece together a complete AR comprable to the M&P15T with a lifetime warranty for $800.
