Got my scratch/dent rifle from CMMG and I cannot find ANYTHING wrong with it. Doublestar lower, 16" M4 flattop. Properly staked gas keys, very good quality M4 feedramps, 1:9 twist and non-chrome lined barrel, but for $640 after FFL and shipping, it cant be beat. Spent the rest of my money on a EOTech 512!

My dad has a membership to the Belleville Shooting Range because he bought his Sig P226 Elite there. I will probably end up getting a membership over at Bullseye STL, off of Manchester and Kingshighway. And where's your range of choice? :wavey:

Sweet, I don't have a range of choice right now. I'm still boycotting BSR for being cock gobblers. Rumor has it that there is a new one near centralia opening that I need to check out in the next few weeks.

Other ranges I need to check out are a gun club in highland, millstadt sportsmans club 3mi south of belleville ($50 a year, 40 yard pistol and rifle lanes), and the caseyville pistol and rifle club that is rumored to have a 200 yard range.

I can't go out and shoot it until this weekend. :( I will have a full report then though! CMMG make a good rifle to begin with too.

Looks about like mine. I got the DPMS lower, and the heavy contour 1/9 twist upper.

What is this about "properly staked gas keys"... something to check for? link?

If the bolts on the gas key aren't properly staked they might work loose and eventually start to cause you problems. Most manufacturers don't stake them properly. http://www.ar15armory.com/forums/AR-carrier-key-staking-pics-t19144.html

if its your first AR you really can't go wrong here. I know its not the best but the money I saved allows me to put thousands of rounds through it and figure out what I want in my top-notch one. :wiggle:

Wow, that's really good looking for the price! How's the upper to lower fitment? If you can feel even a little play, I would recommend an acu-wedge. You might have to trim on the wedge a little to get it snug, but it will add a lot of life to your AR.

Bsr really pissed me off this weekend. Went up there with my dads sig which was purchased there and his membership card. They made a HUGE deal over
me trying to use my fathers membrahip to shoot the gun he bought from them. :ugh: That's why I'm looking into bullseye, no range fees after you buy a membership and I go to slu so its 5min away.

bsr tends to be pretty snobby sometimes. That and they sackride RRA to no end, which is annoying.

No gap to be found between the upper and lower! I was truly suprised. My buddy who owns an LMT ar15 came over and field stripped it and he even commented on the fit and finish. I gave both a good shake and couldn't find any play. I couldn't be happier!
