does anyone know of any websites with AR's in stock or reliable wait times? I have my stripped lower, but I've waited 14 weeks for this kit now, and I'm tired of waiting, because they won't respond on when they expect it to get shipped :wtc:

I don't have a problem with waiting necessarily, as long as I know WHEN I can be ok with it, but not knowing and having the possibility it may never come until next year (if at all) bugs the shit out of me. :hsd:

place an order with RRA for an LPK and you should have it in 4-5 weeks.

get on the email notification for BCM uppers and if you're not a rookie you'll get one when they're in stock.

I guess to be more precise, I'm interested in the 20 inch HBAR barrel. I already have the handguards as well, but I dont care if the kit/upper I buy comes with a 2nd one.

    fuck no

  11. PK has DD M4s in stock.

I'm assuming you've checked your local shops? Around here, every shot I know of has at least some ARs in stock, and some of them are even priced decently.

    WRONG.

Shit is available for reasonable prices if people open up their fucking eyes and quit expecting shit to just be handed to them.

N4 Light uppers in stock on the shelf at SGCUSA for MSRP or slightly above.

and 20" HBAR is dumb unless you're shooting high power

You can get a 20" HBAR and flute the hell out of it and it will weigh the same as an 18" regular barrel

Are you gaining enough velocity in the last two inches to make it worth all that work?

Only other reason I could see getting a heavy profile barrel is for a weapon with a heavy schedule of fire and a fluted barrel on something like that would be begging to fail.

I'm pretty sure a 14.5" or 16" barrel is probably well suited to this guy's needs and, more importantly, abilities. I'm fairly sure any carbine or rifle he buys will outshoot him.

  17. By the time the barrel is 18" long, an extra 2" really only adds ~70fps (depending on the projectile it'll be a little more or a little less.) Inside 200 yards, the difference in POI is negligible. Even out to 400 yards the difference is only an additional few inches.

I didn't know the numbers but I was fairly sure it was <5%.

I would only have a 20" rifle if it was a) issued to me b) I was shooting high power and needed every last inch of sight radius.

Thanks for the numbers though, I really don't do a lot of math with stuff like that.

  21. Honestly, those group numbers don't make any sense. There should be no difference whatsoever between the groups at 100 yards with an 18" vs. 20" barrel. I really can't give you a reason why they'd see those numbers.

Not only is it all over the place, it wouldn't matter if it wasn't. Taking a single barrel with a specific twist and a single bullet weight doesn't tell you jack shit.

    The difference between a 18" 1/12 barrel shooting a 52 bullet and a 18" 1/7 shooting a 75 grain is night and day.

The 20" bull gives you a few extra fps. Buy one and do anything other than bench rest and you'll probably regret it.

You ever carried a bull barrel for anything other than from the car to the bench?

Nope carried alot heavier shit than that though (SAW, 240, M16A4 with all the bullshit shit added to it)

The key is balance, my AR weighs 10.5lbs but Ive had people tell me they dont believe me because its balances rearward at the front of the magwell because its balance and its got a 20" bull barrel fluted
