That's right. I got one tomorrow.

Gonna chat about the NFA, US vs Miller, FOPA amendment, north hollywood, Feinstein .50 cal NFA addition, harsh penalties for criminals, national concealed carry, 922r and some other things.

Im going to see if she will bring up a bill abolishing the above bullshit and creating harsh penalties for firearm related crime.

what other things should i talk about?

thats part of it (FOPA amendment), but not the main objective. main objective is the NFA.

How do you plan on presenting your argument? Do you have different documents and what not supporting your arguments?

You do realize there are parts of the FOPA that are beneficial to gun owners, right?

I have a feeling you're going to come off like a nut. I hope you have a short list of key points assembled, and preferrably a page you can leave with her with them and the appropriate references.

I'm sure you'll let us know how it goes. I think we should all follow striker's lead and follow in kind. We've got a lot of different states represented in here; it's extremely optimistic to think we'd make good progress, but we can't do anything if we don't try.

National Firearms Act (26 USC Chapter 53)
    • Large registry in shambles; if questions about ownership, burden of proof is on citizen
    • “Elite” status of NFA firearms similar to the poll tax; want your freedoms? Pay for them.
    • 21 years old to exercise my 2nd Amendment rights?
    • Ten years in prison coupled along with massive fines for victimless crime
    • Prosecuting people for “conspiracy to construct an NFA device”; do we start giving DUIs to those who drink alcohol and own a car?

    US vs. Miller

    • District Court held the NFA was unconstitutional
    • Defendants had absolutely no representation at the Supreme Court
    • Supreme Court determined 2nd Amendment protected only weapons with a military/militia use
    • The military has used short barreled weapons, along with every other type of device listed in the NFA, since the Civil War

H.AMDT.777 of the Firearm Owners Protection Act (H.R. 4332)
    • ATF interpretation of this bans production of machine guns for civilian use after May 19, 1986
    • Proposed late at night when a large number of representatives were absent
    • Amendment appeared to fail, however Rangel, declares amendment approved
    • Creates a false market with artificially high prices
    • New weapon enhancements, say, for the US military, are being halted as the common citizen does not have the means to experiment and produce new weapons. John Browning, Eugene Stoner, and many others fall under this category.

    North Hollywood Shootout
    • NFA and H.AMDT.777 should have prevented this, however, they did not
    • Criminals will always do what they please; laws do not matter
    • Automatic weapons will always be around. They are not difficult to construct.

    18 USC Section 922(r)
    • Prohibits assembling select rifles or shotguns from imported parts
    • How have we defined that these certain parts must be made in the United States in order to consider a gun domestically manufactured?
    • Unnecessary costs and worries for gun owners and manufacturers

    Nationwide Conceal Carry
    • Driver’s licenses and other documents are recognized nationwide
    • Why isn’t something that is guaranteed in the 2nd Amendment?

Please vote and continue to push for:

    • H.R.5092 - Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) Modernization and Reform Act
    • H.R.1384 - Firearm Commerce Modernization Act
    • H.R.5005 - Firearms Correction and Improvements Act
    • H.R.1288 - District of Columbia Personal Protection Act
    • H.R.47 - Citizens' Self-Defense Act of 2005
    • H.R.4547 - National Standard For The Carrying Of Certain Concealed Firearms By Nonresidents
    • H.R.1703 - Second Amendment Protection Act of 2005
    • H.R.1603 - Fairness in Firearm Testing Act

don't know if youv'e left yet, but bring up the '86 ban on importation of machineguns and the May '86 ban, which are most likely the same thing.

If we can get rid of the '34 NFA, everything else should go as well.

H.AMDT.777 of the Firearm Owners Protection Act (H.R. 4332)

importation is in the gun control act i think. getting rid of 777 is first priority over those 2. building machine guns out of parts kits is easy.

Yeah, I'd like to see how an appt like that would go over with my Congresswoman, Cynthia McKinney! I'm sure a reasonable discussion would go far... What an embarrassment to my state.

You're not the only one who thinks so.

They took that sign down a few months ago. Now they announce that you get a free copy of the Fair Tax book when you sign up for a storage unit. :bigthumb:
