So i've been having problems with my 2 year old macbook just shutting off when it hits about 50% battery, coconut battery and system profiler still list the battery as being good, and still under 300 charge cycles.

Apple's policy is that batteries aren't warrantied past one year or 300 charge cycles, whichever is first.

I called up applecare, told the 'dude' what was going on, and he's cross shipping me one for free , no questions asked. I still can't get over how awesome they've been to me, so far they've replaced a cracked palmrest, 2 backlight inverters (one of the replacements was defective from the factory :o), 2 bt mighty mouses, and now a 2 year old battery.

    i

noice. I secretly I'm kinda hoping that the battery doesn't fix it, and that I do have to send it out, maybe I'll get an upgrade too :o

but in all reality, I am pretty sure that the replacement will fix it.

I'm going to be purchasing soon for my last model MBP. The optical output doesn't work already but who knows what else might break. Maybe I will get upgraded to a unibody:x:

let me guess the problem with the mighty mouses was that it wasn't scrolling either up or down?

I had a couple dents in my MBP case from constant use over 3 years. This caused the hinges that hold the screen to break. My screen was really floppy when moved, wasn't stable.

I took it in, saw a manager, they replaced the entire case. New bottom, new keyboard, new top, new hinges, everything.

I have like 1 month left on my applecare :o
