    Apple laptops

I'm going away for college soon, and I really want an Apple Powerbook, but is it compatible with programs for Windows? and vice versa?

    BTW: thats "laptop" :fawk:

Lots of programs have Windows versions and Mac OS versions, just have to do some research and find out which programs do and don't

Almost all programs that you can get for Windows (excluding games) also have a Mac version (MS Office, Photoshop, Firefox, etc...), and in almost all cases, both versions share the same file format (so you can open a .doc created on a Mac on a windows machine with no problems and vice versa). I highly recommend the Mac laptops, they're really excellent.

You've never even tried one? I love my Powerbook, but I wouldn't recommend paying that much money for one unless you know you want it.

Absoulutely take advantage of the education discount. It will save you some bank. I have a 15" without the superdrive. I feel I got my money's worth.

I had a 15 inch powerbook, loved it.. but, let me ask you, what are your primary functions for having a laptop? Word, internet surfing blah blah..? video editing?

It's different, but pretty intuitive. Not very hard to use at all.

That said, I don't like using either.
