Apple is going to hell

Discussion in 'OT Technology' started by Mr. Thermistor, Jun 7, 2005.

  1. First Tiger, now x86. I've been a vehement supporter for years, but it seems as if any advantages to the platform will completely vanish in the next several months.

Maybe Google will start selling computers.

    What's wrong with Tiger?

  4. Many, many, many bugs.

Jobs needs to die or retire or something. He's getting senile.

I've thought for a LONG time that the x86 is the better platform. Aqua is great, and I welcome it to the PC hardware, but the mac hardware was just wrong.

Apple has now admitted this (if you look how apple started and how they progressed, they became more and more pc-like in their hardware, anyway).

btw, I would hate google selling hardware. Have you read their privacy policy? I refuse to you any of their "tools" because of their practices.

  7. Yes, because making a thread about them will magically cause them to disappear. :ugh2:

    Spotlight search inconsistencies
    Safari rendering errors
    Numerous crashing bugs
    Fie system errors
Issue with Finder preferences not being saved
    Miscellaneous fatal errors
And the compatibility issue with third party drives seems to affect my OEM optical now. Great.

  8. I like PPC much better than x86 as a developing platform. Vecs == sex, and big endian. I'll really miss vectors. :wtc:

yes, because windows and linux are bug free.

  10. Which is why I use a Mac. 10.3 was much more reliable; this release is just disappointing.

And Automator fails halfway through execution, claiming "an error" has occurred. Real useful info.
    I wish I could downgrade.

seriously though. it just came out. they're zapping bugs quickly. 10.4.1 was out after only a few days and 10.4.2 is coming soon.

i haven't had any errors. The only thing i've noticed is that my g5 won't always initially go to sleep.

point out any new os that hasn't had any bugs? by the time 10.4 gets to 10.4.9, you'll be saying the same thing about 10.5

It's not that hard to figure it out. Really, not attacking you or anything, just saying, it's not so hard. It says an error has occured on the actual stage with the problem, so all you have to do is work around that.

  17. How the fuck would you know, shitty troll?

  18. 10.3.5 didn't fix any of the glaring issues in 10.3, and 10.4 adds a host of others.

    Piss poor logic, there.

  19. Once Apple stops production, will there be any way to get a PPC desktop?

Nope, just advice. It really isn't that hard, I mean it. Automator makes it easier, and yeah, it is easier. Not my fault you're a dumbass.

  22. I've been using Mac OS systems at home for over 11 years and have been developing for four. I have owned a machine running every release system since 6.5. 10.4 is shit. Shut the fuck up, troll.

Shut up, stupid. You're wrong. If you know a workaround, post it. If you have a fix, report it.
There's nothing I can do to debug a closed system such as Automator.

I'm not the stupid one here. It seems that many think that you are the stupid one, and hey, they don't just think that for the hell of it.

I would post a workaround, but I don't know what I'm making the workaround for, you haven't mentioned the script.
