    I took my Unibody MacBook in for the second time in about 6 months today. First time is was because it wouldn't recognize the difference between battery and A/C power. It started doing the same thing last week.

    Basically it means a new logic board and Magsafe connector and a week without the machine. Well, since it is the second time with the error, they offered me another option...

    Swap for a brand new MacBook Pro at no charge. :eek4::bowdown::bowdown:

    They are doing a data transfer and I should get the new machine tomorrow.

    Damn, they usually don't offer that unless there have been like 5 major repairs on the computer. Congrats on the upgrade!

    And they are giving me a pro-rated refund on my unused portion. :cool::cool:

    I now have a new MBP! Same processor (slightly faster) but 2GB more RAM, firewire and SD card slot.

    Nice! I just sent in for my 4th repair in 2.5 years. I asked about a swap but they said I wasn't eligible.

    Needs to be 3 times within a one year period. And it needs to be a major repair (MLB, display, etc).

    It doesn't necessarily need to be X amount of repairs in Y amount of time. That's just usually the reason why they offer the replacement. If it's more cost efficient to do the repair over and over, or to replace it with another computer

    I use to work as a 'Product Specialist' w/ AppleCare. Those are the guidelines they follow.

    mac ftw i just had to take our dell back to bestbuy for the 4th time and "well we can't find anything wrong but we'll send it back" the fucking thing over heats and shuts down with a nice burning smell
