I was wondering what there is out there in mac land software wise that someone can use with the USB 56k modem for a MBP to get on the web with.

I have roadrunner at my house and this will not be used for my home but as a alternative to not being able to find a wireless hotspot or broadband connection say on the road/office with T3 line that is monitored and password protected.

I'm not talking about the ethernet port I am talking about using a dial up 56k modem like back in 1991 to connect to the internet.

Dude... you do not need any motherfucking software. Its built in. If you have an internal modem, its already there. If you hook up an apple USB modem, it will be there. Under 'System Preferences' and 'Network' there is a modem slot, just like there's an ethernet slot and a wireless slot.

You just need your ISPs information and account credentials. Fill them in, plug into the phone, hit connect... slow internets.
