I brought my 15" powerbook 1.67ghz in for repair yesterday because the superdrive wouldnt eject discs and it looks like the guy tried prying the opening of the slot open with some metal, probably a screwdriver.

I'm on the phone with tech support right now about this, why the hell would they have even done this? Doesn't seem like a very apple like thing to do.

Here's the damage CompUSA did to mine, there were a few other things they did to mess it up. They eventually replaced the whole unit with a new one which was pretty sweet.

they had to replace the logic board three times while they had it. This was over a period of three months.

they had it the whole time except the time when they gave it back to me with that wire sticking out of the PCcard slot and some other crap that was wrong with it.

EDIT: to be fair, five weeks of that time was when they sent the laptop to the wrong facility and were not very sure where it was.

I took my iBook in for repair, and they sent it off for a depot repair. They replaced the mainboard... and also my keyboard which had some keys paint worn off.

But they broke the fucking case... it comes on in my bag now and the battery dies. FUCK
