    Open up a command prompt and 'rm -rf filename' of course I don't use Mac and this might not be the easiest way of doing it but it should work. Get into root if necessary.

    If your friend has OS9 installed as well, most Macs have both, boot into OS9 and delete it that way.
    I should be in Users\NAME\Desktop

    That's what I use to do. It might also be nessecary to start OS9 with extensions off but booting into OS9 and then holding down the Shift key (either one) and the start screen should say "Extensions Off" and he can let go of the Shift key then. But try it first without doing this.
