Apple care.V. new to this

    You need to get AppleCare in Canada. If you get something called Auto-enroll, then it works anywhere, but if you buy it as a standalone, then you have to purchase it within your country.

    If you're a student, then I'd say just go to the Apple Store nearest you and get it with the student discount. Or have a friend who's a student go buy it. It's $183 for students, and then you're guaranteed it will work

    i just bought one on ebay two nights ago. the number worked, but it says that it's still registration in progress. Wonder how long until it's approved?

    I emailed the guy from the ebay link i posted, he said it would work fine in canada...
    would really like to know

    I'd say if you really want a definite answer, try calling someone at an Apple Store

    I'm guessing everyone here agrees that if I were to buy a new MacBook/MBP this week, AppleCare would be a good idea to get?

    you have a year of warranty without applecare. so just get it eventually, doesnt have to be now.
