Anyone got their hands on a copy and tested it out? I'm very excited about this software and was just wondering what others thought.

A friend of mine in the photo business said one of his buddys over at transworld got a copy yesterday and it was incredibly slow on his dual 2.7 g5. Makes me wonder about it.

Okay I got my hands on a copy of it today and so far I'm pretty impressed with it. The only thing I find difficult to figure out is how to archive my photos.

    Overall...it is nice.

Sorry, one thing I just found out is you can't connect your camera directly to the program and have it pull it in as you shoot.

    Kind of lame there.

I've been playing with it at work on a dual core 2.0 GHz G5. Pretty nifty, but it is really a glorified iPhoto. Don't try running it on anything with a G3, almost killed my machine.

Howd you get it running on an emac? I guess it doesnt block installation on systems below the minimum specs.

you need a full copy of the app, a valid serial number, a application called pacifist to install, then search google "nocpu aperture". this has all the directions you'll need.

unless the guy reviewing it is a pro photographer i cant really take it seriously, i bet the guy doesnt really get the point behind the program

if you actually read the review rather than citing the party line, you'd see he makes a series of very valid points (i.e. problems w/the RAW converter)

I played with it today on a quad with 4.5GB ram, and it seems a tad sluggish for simple things like viewing pictures. When you click an image, it will show it, but it will be fuzzy until about 5 or 6 seconds later when it focuses it.

it runs half way decent on my emac. All i've done is crop, made a few adjustments, stacked photos and reorganized albums. I can see why they have a minimum hardware requirement. This way a bunch of people don't buy it then take it back when it runs slow.

The more people I talk to the more I hear how disappointed people are with it. The only "major" issue I see with it is the way it exports and stores them.
