    Shouldn't the D70 be like $200-300 more?

    D70 body - $1099.00 canadian

Digital Rebel body - $1099.95 canadian

I was so set on getting the rebel, but now I can get a D70 with Canadian warranty for not much more than a rebel in the usa and I don't have to deal with the rebate hassle (have to go through family in the states so I have an american adress to send the rebate to etc.)

Grab a gray market 18-70 from the states for $290 and the D70 might be a better choice as an entry into the SLR realm :hs:

nothing about that company on reselerratings.com, might want to find out if they are legit or not, as that is not right at all. links don't work btw, but the price is what you're saying it is still. Thats a really high price for the rebel though, its not uncommon for it to be 700-800 US, and last I checked, there isn't that big of a currecy eexchange difference right now

Vistek is legit. and since he's in TO, he's probably going over to their store to pick it up.

Nah, nothing wrong with vistek...they're a local company and I'll just walk into the store.

I've looked around and Rebel's are just expensive in canada for some reason :dunno:

I know they're cheaper in the states, but then it's a "gray market" item when I get it back here, whereas that Nikon is fully backed by Nikon Canada if I buy it up here. The 18-70 Nikornkit lens is $500 canadian and no real deal if bought with camera or $290 in the US (gray market, but the $340 US one would be gray market for me when I bring it back up here too).

So I'm thinking the D70 with warranty up here, plus a gray market kit lens from the states would be a relatively cheap option. And I get a warranty on the stuff that's likely to fuck up down the line, and with the lens, which if it works fine day 1, lack of warranty down the road shouldn't be an issue.
